About

About TrackNote

TrackNote is a training notebook built specifically for track & field athletes. It centralizes daily training logs, race results, body composition, and form videos into one app, helping athletes improve through data-driven insights. Born from the real experience of a developer who ran 800m at Aoyama Gakuin University, TrackNote is designed around the concept of "getting faster with data, not guesswork."

Features

Key Features

TrackNote is designed to manage every aspect of track & field training in a single app.

Track-specific training logs

Covers distance, reps, time, laps, rest, and more. Supports intervals, repetitions, and complex multi-set workouts to accurately capture any training session.

Workout-based history comparison

Instantly view past records for the same workout. Compare times from six months ago and visualize progress — something paper notebooks can't do.

Season-long race management

Log events, times, placements, wind speed, race footage, and reflections. Track time trends across seasons with built-in charts.

Body composition tracking

Visualize weight, body fat, and muscle mass trends alongside training data to identify conditions that lead to peak performance.

Form video integration

Attach form videos directly to training sessions or race records. Review "the form from the day I ran my PR" anytime.

Custom time-entry keyboard

A purpose-built keyboard with numbers, colons, and periods on one screen. No switching needed — the more reps you log, the more time you save.

TrackNote Creator / Software Engineer

Started track & field in elementary school and competed in the 800m at Aoyama Gakuin University's track team. Personal best: 1:53.48.

Not being a national-level athlete meant constantly thinking about how to shave off 0.1 seconds and what training combinations lead to peak form.

After building a career as a software engineer, started developing TrackNote to create "the training notebook I truly needed back then" from scratch.

Continues to develop with feedback from active track athletes, iterating for over a year since initial release.

Story

Development Story

1

Origin — "Working hard but can't see the progress"

While running 800m at Aoyama Gakuin University, training was intense but reviewing was difficult. Couldn't quickly find similar past workouts, couldn't articulate why times improved, and form videos lost context. Track is a sport of accumulation, yet records weren't connecting to the next improvement. This frustration became TrackNote's starting point.

2

Vision — Building what my past self needed

After becoming a software engineer, the idea was revisited from scratch: what training notebook did I actually need? Three pillars emerged: fast input, fast review, and connected information. The goal wasn't just another logging app — it was a training partner that helps improve the quality of your next session.

3

Evolution — Shaped by real athletes

Since launch, TrackNote has been adopted by athletes at Aoyama Gakuin and other high school and university teams, as well as recreational runners. Continuous improvements to input flows and comparison features are driven by real user feedback. TrackNote keeps evolving to be a product that truly serves track & field athletes.

TrackNote is the app I wish I had during my competitive years. It prioritizes supporting daily accumulation over flashy features.
